JENNIFER BLUMENFELD

Jen is a Bay Area native who has always engaged in the Jewish community from a position of lay leadership. From helping build the foundation of the Mission minyan and carrying it forward, to membership committees and pre-school outreach at her synagogue, Jen focuses her free time to building Jewish community. She has a background in fashion design and business and currently leads business development for a chocolate store on San Francisco’s Pier 39. Jen is deeply committed to Hasidah’s mission after having lived through the pain of infertility and understanding first-hand the enormous financial burden it causes and the socio-emotional side effects. Jen believes that there is no greater gift you can give someone then helping them to become a parent.

Rabbi Jill Cozen Harel

Rabbi Cozen Harel is an educator, chaplain, and a technology analyst. She has worked with the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center to develop materials for clergy to support people facing pregnancy losses and has facilitated support groups for survivors of domestic violence as part of a collaboration between Shalom Bayit and the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center for over five years. She has taught for Mission Minyan, Kevah, Brandeis Hillel Day School, and several other educational settings in the Bay Area. Rabbi Cozen-Harel has also served as a chaplain at California Pacific Medical Center and currently works at UCSF as a senior cloud content analyst. She was ordained by HUC-JIR in 2009 and has been a rabbi in the Bay Area since 2010.

JUNE K. GUTTERMAN, ED.D

June is the former CEO of Jewish Family Services of Columbus, OH. Prior to joining JFS, she served as the vice president of community services for the Columbus Jewish Federation. She served as the director of the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission’s (ORSC) Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation from 1988-2004. She served as director of ORSC’s Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired, as superintendent of the Pickaway County Ohio Board of MRDD, and as a program specialist in Ohio Resource Center for Low Incidence and Severely Handicapped. Dr. Gutterman serves on the Jewish Federations of North America: Health and Long-term Care Workgroup. She is a member of the board of director’s of the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services and the JPro Network.

Michelle Filiba

Originally from San Diego, Michelle has lived in San Francisco for over ten years working at Facebook. She has worked her way up to the position of Senior Software Engineer and volunteers her time teaching with Girls Who Code and mentoring women interested in transitioning to software engineering. After facing challenging having a child, she and her husband were fortunate enough to have employment benefits that covered IVF. When she became pregnant, she reached out and found Hasidah to pay it forward to others who faced financial and other barriers to growing their family. Early in 2022, she and her partner Matthew welcomed their first child safely into the world.

Nina Kaufman

Nina has lived in Redwood City for almost ten years, moving here from Chicago, Illinois.  She is a partner at Mayer Brown LLP who focuses on technology-related mergers and acquisitions, and has held various leadership positions within the firm including Corporate Office Practice Leader, Diversity Committee Member, Fintech Co-Leader and Technology Initiative Committee Member.  Watching her son develop a sense of belonging and community at Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School encouraged her to become more involved with the Jewish community.  Being the daughter of an obstetrician and gynecologist with friends and family who faced barriers to growing their families, and knowing her own deep sense of purpose from being a mother, Nina is committed to helping others create their own families.

RABBI IDIT SOLOMON

Rabbi Solomon is the founder of Hasidah. She previously served as Vice President of Jewish Education and Identity and Community Relations at the Columbus Jewish Federation. Rabbi Solomon was ordained from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles where she also received a Master’s in Hebrew Letters and a Master’s of Jewish Education from the Rhea Hirsch School of Education. Prior to this she was educated and worked in the field of systems analysis and accounting. Rabbi Solomon has also worked in the synagogue, college campus, nursing care and summer camp venues. Rabbi Solomon is an alumnus of the Rabbis Without Borders program and a member of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Clergy Leadership Program.

RABBI IDIT SOLOMON

Rabbi Idit Solomon is the founder and CEO of Hasidah. Her background spans from corporate America, accounting and technology to Jewish summer camps, synagogue boardrooms and executive leadership. She previously served as the head of the Department of Jewish Education and Identify at the Columbus Jewish Federation where served for a period as the head of their Community Relations Committee . Rabbi Solomon also worked for the Ohio State University Hillel as the campus rabbi.

Prior to becoming a Jewish professional, Rabbi Solomon was a systems analyst specializing in accounting and worked in the corporate world. She holds a B.S. in Applied Science from Miami University and earned her Master’s of Jewish Education and ordination from HUC-JIR in Los Angeles.

Rabbi Solomon has served on boards and committees of numerous organizations including synagogue boards, Columbus Jewish Day School, Agudas Achim chevra kaddisha, Columbus Board of Rabbis, and several Interfaith coalitions. She is also the co-founder of a Rosh Hodesh group in Los Angeles and Minyan Nedava in Columbus, Ohio.

Rabbi Solomon founded Hasidah after experiencing years of infertility and recognizing that no organization existed to address the need for awareness, network navigation and financial assistance for all Jews. Her experiences working in Jewish pastoral care settings, developing community change initiatives, and serving in leadership and executive roles inspired her to put her skills towards what she believes to be a most worthy goal: providing people with needed resources to manage experiences of infertility and helping them to build Jewish families.

Robin Bernstein has more than 25 years of progressive healthcare and community services consulting experience with expertise in strategic and business planning, marketing, market research, feasibility studies and other business advisory services. Bernstein has completed engagements and successfully implemented programs for a wide variety of not–for-profit agencies including healthcare systems, inpatient and ambulatory facilities, physicians and many others.

Ms. Bernstein has held leadership positions with a national hospice company and has had several volunteer leadership positions with not-for-profit organizations. Ms. Bernstein is currently chair of the Planning & Allocations Committee of the Jewish Federation of Columbus, Vice Chair of Jewish Family Services of Columbus, and is on the executive committee of Camp Livingston.

Jamie Levine Daniel

Jamie Levine Daniel recently received her Ph.D from The Ohio State University’s John Glenn School of Public Affairs and is now Assistant Professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Her research focuses on the relationship between earned revenue, organizational capacity, and service delivery in nonprofit organizations. Originally from Cleveland, OH, Jamie earned her BA in International Relations and Jewish Studies from American University, and her MBA from Ohio State. She spent five years working for BBYO Inc’s international office, and served as a JDC Jewish Service Corps Fellow in Izmir, Turkey before beginning her graduate studies.

Davina Fankhauser

Co-Founder and President, Ferttility Within Reach

Davina Fankhauser is an expert on policy related to benefits for fertility treatment and preservation. She advises patients and professionals how to effectively communicate with insurers, employers, and legislators to increase access to health benefits. As President of Fertility Within Reach, Davina testified before the Massachusetts Division of Insurance to advocate for MA to maintain a Benchmark Plan, (as part of the Affordable Care Act), containing IVF benefits, so regardless of state mandated benefits, IVF coverage will be provided in MA. She once again testified before the MA Division of Insurance in 2012, requesting Cryopreservation of Eggs be a required benefit for infertility. After this approval, Davina worked with clinics and created and presented Recommended Guidelines for Oocyte Cryopreservation to insurers. She is working with US Senator Ed Markey to establish a Congressional Caucus on Infertility.

Through her work, Davina has the privilege of witnessing patients and professionals become empowered advocates and change their fate and that of others.

Karen Erlichman, D.Min

Karen Lee Erlichman, D.Min, LCSW provides psychotherapy, spiritual direction, So(U)L coaching and mentoring in San Francisco, employing a mind-body-spirit approach to healing.  She is also a longtime community faculty member at  University of California-San Francisco in the Department of OB/GYN and Reproductive Sciences. Karen has been in practice for over thirty years and currently serves as senior consultant for Ethics of Care and Resource Development with The Dinner Party, whose mission is to build community for young adults in their 20s and 30s who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Her writing has been published widely in numerous journals, blogs and anthologies, including Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction, Tikkun, Feminist Studies in Religion and in the interfaith anthology Spiritual Guidance Across Religions.

Dr. Kara Goldman

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Kara N. Goldman, MD is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Northwestern University Fertility and Reproductive Medicine, where she also serves as the Medical Director of Fertility Preservation. She graduated Cum Laude from Duke University, received her medical degree from Loyola University, and completed residency training at Northwestern University. She completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New York University where she subsequently joined the faculty.

Dr. Goldman’s research focuses on fertility preservation and ovarian aging. She has received prestigious research grants to study pharmacologic fertility preservation and the role of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in ovarian aging, and her work has been twice nominated and once awarded the Scientific Program Prize Paper award by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine as well as the Fertility Preservation Special Interest Group Prize Paper award. She is on the editorial board for the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Geneticsand serves as a reviewer for a number of journals including Fertility and Sterility, Reproductive BioMedicine Online, and Human Reproduction.

Dr. Goldman specializes in all aspects of reproductive medicine including the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, LGBTQ+ fertility care, and fertility preservation. She lectures nationally and internationally and is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, where she is currently serving on the Task Force on Oocyte Cryopreservation. She is an advocate for increased access to reproductive medicine care, and serves on the medical advisory board of the charitable foundation Team Maggie for a Cure which provides support and fertility preservation resources for cancer patients.

Julie Bindeman, Psy.D

Reproductive Psychologist, Speaker, Author

Dr. Julie Bindeman is a national authority on psychological treatment related to reproductive challenges including infertility, pregnancy loss, and post-partum issues. She is the co-founder of Integrative Therapy of Greater Washington, a private practice in Washington, DC.

Driven to help people with their personal journeys to parenthood as a result of her own experiences, she knows the importance of being able to heal so that losses become PART of who we are, not ALL of who we are.

Dr. Julie graduated from George Washington University with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient mental health, private practices, schools, and Universities and has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Psychological Association since 2008. She is the author of a chapter in Prenatal and Preimplantation Diagnosis: The Burden of Choice.

In addition to her focus on reproductive psychology, Dr. Julie has taught at several universities including Marymount, Johns Hopkins, and Loyola. She provides professional consultation, delivers workshops, gives community talks, and writes. She is currently writing a book titled “Pregnancies Interrupted” and maintains several blogs focused on parenting and reproduction.

Dr. Marcelle Cedars

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Marcelle Cedars is a specialist in caring for patients going through in vitro fertilization and perimenopause, as well as patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome. She is director of the UCSF Center for Reproductive Health.

Cedars also directs UCSF’s reproductive endocrinology division, coordinating the relationship between scientific research and personalized care for patients. In her own research, she focuses on ovarian aging and how it affects both fertility and women’s overall health.

Cedars received her medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Health & Hospital System, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Madeline Feingold, Ph.D

Psychotherapist

Madeline Feingold is a psychologist in private practice in Oakland, California. She earned her Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology, was licensed in 1985 (CA PSY 9071), and has over 25 years of experience treating adults, couples, adolescents and families. She specializes in treating reproductive health issues including infertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum depression and alternative family building with donors and surrogates.

Dr. Feingold was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, Chair of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and President of the Alameda County Psychological Association. Additionally she served as a member of the Mental Health Advisory Group for Resolve and the Mental Health Advisory Council of Path2Parenthood. She provides services for reproductive clinics and donor and surrogacy agencies, and since 1992 has been the Director of Psychological Services at the Alta Bates In Vitro Fertilization Program. Dr. Feingold has written and presented extensively on issues surrounding donor conceived families.

Gabrielle Kaufman, LPCC

Gabrielle Kaufman is a dance/movement therapist and licensed professional clinical counselor with over 20 years experience in the helping profession. Currently, she is director of Training and Technical Assistance for the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force. Prior to this, she served as director of the New Moms Connect Program of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles providing services to new parents, particularly those suffering from symptoms of postpartum depression. Ms. Kaufman has worked extensively with new families and aided in providing solutions to many parenting concerns. She has run several programs for high-risk children and teens, taught classes to parents of newborns and toddlers, and runs support groups for single parents and women with postpartum depression. Ms. Kaufman has spoken widely, published articles on parenting, and served as editor for Bringing Light to Motherhood. She serves as Los Angeles coordinator for Postpartum Support International also has a private practice in Los Angeles providing services in both English and Spanish languages.

Dr. Jonathan Kort

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Jonathan Kort is an established specialist in reproductive endocrinology and the author of many medical publications and textbook chapters in the field of infertility science.

Dr. Kort completed his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) fellowship at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, where he conducted cutting-edge research on non-invasive measurements of eggs to predict their future development potential, as well as research in genetic screening. During his time at Stanford he also completed training in embryology and is certified as a technical supervisor in embryology and andrology. He completed his OBGYN residency at Stanford University Hospital, during which he completed original research into egg freezing, the impact of weight loss on fertility treatment, and ovarian reserve. Dr. Kort received his M.D. from Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Kort’s clinical focus areas include diminished ovarian reserve, hypothalamic amenorrhea, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), reproductive surgery, and gamete/embryo selection. He has a particular interest in patients with a history of poor embryo development during IVF. He sits on the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility, has published textbook chapters on gamete and embryo selection, and was the recipient of the Stanford Child Health Research Institute Grant (2017) which helped develop new ways of using pre-implantation genetic screening for embryo selection.

Dr. Kort followed his father into the field of reproductive medicine and credits his father with helping develop his bedside manner. “My philosophy is, treat patients like family and make sure no question is left unanswered or concern unaddressed.”

Dr. Peter Klatsky

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Klatsky graduated with honors from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at UCSF, and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Brown University. He received a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University and was selected by his peers as a Rising Star among New York Physicians in 2014 and 2015, while on the faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Klatsky is board certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.

An innovator who is deeply passionate about improving public access to the best possible obstetric and fertility care, Dr. Klatsky worked as a human rights activist in Asia and Africa prior to medical school. Among his many achievements is the founding of Mama Rescue, a cloud-based, mobile dispatch and transportation platform that helps women in rural Uganda access skilled and emergency obstetric care. Dr. Klatsky is proud to have founded Spring Fertility with Dr. Tran, to deliver the best possible outcomes and a new standard of care not seen anywhere.

Dr. Elizabeth Kennard

Dr. Elizabeth Kennard received her Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio, served her medical residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, and completed her Fellowship with The Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus. She is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.

Dr. Kennard also serves not only as an Associate Professor with OSU’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, but she also is the director of the Department’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division.

Kennard is a nationally recognized expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility who speaks to other physicians all over the United States on the latest trends, information, and treatment options for families facing infertility issues.

She is an ad hoc reviewer of medical information presented in The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility & Sterility, and Gynecologic Oncology, and has been tapped for numerous honors and awards, including the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award in 1995.

A member of numerous professional organizations, Dr. Kennard is active with the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Columbus Obstetrical & Gynecological Society.

Dr. Brian Levine

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Brian A. Levine, M.D., is the founding partner and practice director of CCRM New York. He is board-certified in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility and obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Levine attended New York University School of Medicine where he currently serves as a member of NYU’s Board of Trustees, completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia University Medical Center and then completed his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Levine has over 50 publications and was recently awarded the highest prize by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine for his assisted reproductive technology (ART) video submission on three-dimensional sperm imaging techniques. He has also received multiple honors and teaching awards and continues to mentor students, residents, and fellows on both basic science and clinical research.

Dr. Levine is a member of the New York Surgical Society, the New York Medical Society, the New York Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

In addition to his clinical expertise and ongoing research, Dr. Levine is currently the technology editor of Contemporary Ob/Gyn magazine and has lectured nationwide on how physicians and laboratory personnel can adopt common technologies to improve clinical efficiency.

In 2017, Dr. Levine was honored with the Doctors of Distinction award in Westchester County and was also named a Rising Star by Super Doctors in 2017 and 2018.

Dr. David Reichman

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. David E. Reichman is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at The Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine of Weill Cornell Medical College. He graduated Cum Laude from Yale University, received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, and completed residency in OB/GYN at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Reichman then completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a board-certified Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Reichman specializes in all aspects of reproductive medicine, including IVF/ICSI, high and low responders to ovarian stimulation, fertility preservation, egg freezing, oocyte donation, ovulation induction, amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome, recurrent miscarriage, male infertility, LGBT reproductive services, and avoidance of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. He is also an expert surgeon, performing minimally invasive hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures for the treatment of endometrial and ovarian disorders. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Reichman lectures nationally and internationally on a wide range of topics in reproductive health, and is actively involved in medical research, having published 18 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and 8 textbook chapters. He currently sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Assisted Reproduction & Genetics and is a reviewer for the journal Fertility & Sterility, for which in 2014 he received the F&S Star Reviewer Award.

Dr. Thalia Segal

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Dr. Thalia Segal is a specialist in diagnosing and treating the causes of infertility and reproductive disorders. Her areas of expertise include fertility preservation (egg freezing), individualizing protocols for in vitro fertilization (IVF), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (checking embryos for genetic defects), polycystic ovarian disease and LGBTQ family building.

Segal has a special interest in how environmental toxins and pesticides may impact fertility and IVF outcomes. In collaboration with the Environment and Reproductive Health (EARTH) Study of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, she studied the effects of DEET insect repellent on semen parameters.  With the UCSF Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment, she is currently working to investigate the effects of the 2018 Camp Fire – the most devastating fire in California history – on reproductive outcomes.

Segal earned her medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwell Health, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Segal is chair-elect of the Environment and Reproduction Special Interest Group, a national organization that advocates for research, awareness and health policies on toxic chemicals in drinking water and commonly used products that may be contributing to infertility.

Dr. Eric Surrey

Dr Eric Surrey is Medical Director of the Colorado Center of Reproductive Medicine in Lone Tree, CO. His medical degree was conferred by the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. He is a board certified reproductive endocrinologist who completed residency and fellowship training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA.

Prior to joining CCRM in 1999, he was an Associate Clinical Professor of Ob-Gyn at UCLA and had been acting director of the Division of Reproductive Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and medical director of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies program at Century City Hospital in Los Angeles. He is a Past President of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), Society of Reproductive Surgeons and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society and past member of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Rachel Weinerman

Dr. Rachel Weinerman received her Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School, served her medical residency at New York University School of Medicine and Langone Medical Center, and completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine She is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and has expertise in many areas of fertility treatment including Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Intrauterine Insemination, Fertility Preservation, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss, Same-Sex Couples, In Vitro Fertilization, and Ovulation Induction.

Dr. Weinerman currently is a clinical Assistant Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Rabbi Aaron Finkelstein

Lead Rabbinic Partner

Rabbi Aaron Finkelstein was the founding rabbi of Prospect Heights Shul in Brooklyn, New York, and has been the Assistant Rabbi at Sherith Israel in Nashville, Tennessee since 2014. Originally from California, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in Political Science as well as Jewish and Near Eastern Studies, and received semikha from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in 2011. He serves as the chair of the Nashville Board of Rabbis, was a 2015 – 2016 fellow in Yeshiva University’s certificate program in Experiential Jewish Education, and has taught Judaic Studies at both Hannah Senesh Community Day School in Brooklyn and Akiva School in Nashville. In addition to hobbies like basketball and cycling, Rabbi Finkelstein is an avid cook and baker, and loves to host meals with his wife Julie.

Rabbi Mimi Weisel

Rabbi Mimi Weisel has leadership experience in a variety of areas, including chaplaincy, education and administration. She has provided spiritual care and bereavement counseling in hospice, served as Rabbi-in-Residence at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay in San Francisco, Assistant Dean at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles, and Director of Jewish Education and Continuity at the Dave & Mary Alper Jewish Community Center in Miami.

Rabbi Weisel was Chair of the Shalom Bayit Rabbinic Advisory Committee and facilitates their support groups for women who are victims of domestic violence. She also has been a staff member of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center’s Grief and Growing Bereavement Camp. She has also served various synagogues in part time rabbinic roles, and volunteer leadership as board and committee member in the healthcare and Jewish communities.

Prior to entering the Rabbinate, Rabbi Weisel worked in the corporate environment administering career development programs in the aerospace industry. She was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1998, has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as various credentials and certificates.

She is married to Paul Hamburg, former Librarian of the Judaica Collection at University of California, Berkeley and is proud mother of rabbi-to-be Michael Shefrin.

Karen Erlichman, D.Min

Karen Lee Erlichman, D.Min, LCSW provides psychotherapy, spiritual direction, So(U)L coaching and mentoring in San Francisco, employing a mind-body-spirit approach to healing.  She is also a longtime community faculty member at  University of California-San Francisco in the Department of OB/GYN and Reproductive Sciences. Karen has been in practice for over thirty years and currently serves as senior consultant for Ethics of Care and Resource Development with The Dinner Party, whose mission is to build community for young adults in their 20s and 30s who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Her writing has been published widely in numerous journals, blogs and anthologies, including Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction, Tikkun, Feminist Studies in Religion and in the interfaith anthology Spiritual Guidance Across Religions.
